The symbol MK (Merkopolis Sale), which accompanies many adverts, means that the vendor has consented Merkopolis to intervene, if requested by the buyer. With this method, the buyer pays Merkopolis and Merkopolis pays the vendor, but only when the item has been delivered and the buyer is satisfied with the purchase. Otherwise, the commercial operation is cancelled and the item and money returned.
Independent Sale.-
A direct purchase from a vendor without the intermediation of Merkopolis need not pose a security problem. This mode, called 'Independent Sale', can be perfectly safe with vendors with whom the buyer has had a previous satisfactory business experience or whose trading history with other customers offers the maximum guarantees of reliability.
Merkopolis Sale Plus.-
The 'Merkopolis Sale Plus' offers the seller the highest level of protection against possible fraud by buyers who have requested the return of their money in a 'Merkopolis Sale.' This method involves our intervention in order to ensure that the goods returned by the buyer match the goods originally sent by the vendor.
Multi-level Security.-
The multi-level security system allows vendors to determine, through their advertisements, the profile of the buyers who can send them offers based on whether or not they meet certain conditions relating to their trading history.
Power to Veto.-
Every vendor has the power to veto users who have not made genuine offers or that, for whichever reasons, they find annoying. These users, once vetoed, will cease to exist for the vendor.
Double Confirmation System.-
In Merkopolis, a purchase-sale agreement does not become effective until the vendor has accepted the offer received and the buyer has confirmed his/her intention to continue with the purchase. This double confirmation system protects the vendor against non-genuine offers and the buyer incurring abusive additional surcharges disguised as shipping costs and taxes.

Thawte, the organization responsible for issuing safety certificates, has issued an SSL certificate to Merkopolis that guarantees that data sent to us by users travel safely through the net by an encrypted information system. This certificate, renewed annually, can be verified by the user by noticing that all our pages carry an https identification on the front of our web address.
