All business projects arise from a dream. Ours is to create a local online market for every small territory that requests it, so that together they constitute an International Network of Local Markets that becomes an alternative to the large multinationals that control the industry.

To turn this dream into reality, we have devised a system for the development of local websites, through which we hope to allocate the more than 225.000 territories available to different entrepreneurs with whom we will share our revenue on a 50/50 basis. 'To share in order to grow together” is an idea impregnated into the genetic code of Merkopolis which we hope to transmit to our partners.

There are two different types of affiliates: Web Affiliates and Territorial Affiliates. Both types of affiliation agreements can be contracted by using the corresponding link found on the upper part of this page. Once your application has been accepted, one of our representatives will contact you and inform you on how to proceed.

Territorial affiliation agreements are paid licenses and therefore anyone can apply for a specific territory that has not been previously licensed. One can license from a small town or city to a large state or country, the price being determined in accordance with the amount of inhabitants of the corresponding territory and its Gross National Income (GNI) per capita. All in all, we have created 225.000 territories, but if the one you are interested in has not been included (for example, a particular city), you can request that it be created.

All territorial licenses are renewable, prior payment of the corresponding amount for annual renewals, and any registered user in a particular licensed territory will be considered as a client of the corresponding affiliate. All you will have to do is promote Merkopolis to the degree and with the methods that you deem necessary to turn your investment into a profitable venture. It will be us here at Merkopolis who will manage all the technical or logistical aspects, including attention to clients.

If you wish to use your own trademark to promote Merkopolis in a licensed territory, please contact us and we will study your proposal. Merkopolis has a system for development of local websites which allows access to our homepage through a domain or web address provided by you. Furthermore, the first search conducted at Merkopolis by your clients will be restricted to your licensed territory and the logo they will visualise whilst browsing will be the Merkopolis logo with your own trademark incorporated into it. You may also request the creation of new sub-zones within your own territory, listing all the towns and cities in that region.

If you are interested in knowing the price of any particular territory, please do not hesitate in sending us your application. We would encourage you to do so now, before all our territories are assigned. We are convinced that your investment will afford you important benefits. Also, please take into account that our prices will be particularly attractive during the first few months from the launching date and that renewable annual amounts will be calculated in accordance with the original price of your license.

The formula is simple. When we receive an application, we take into account two factors: the number of inhabitants in the territory sought and the Gross National Income (GNI) per capita in U.S. dollars according to World Bank data (http://data.worldbank.org/indicator/NY.GNP.PCAP.CD). The price will be approximately the result of multiplying the number of inhabitants by the cost of the licence per inhabitant (the cost per inhabitant has been established in accordance with the GNI per capita of the country in question).

Costs of the license per inhabitant are:

GNI per capita up to $10,000: 0.001 € per inhabitant.
GNI per capita $10,000-20,000 GNI per capita: 0.002 € per inhabitant.
GNI per capita $20,000-30,000 $ GNI per capita: 0.003 € per inhabitant.
GNI per capita $30,000-40,000 $ GNI per capita: 0.004 € per inhabitant.
GNI per capita over $40,000: 0.005 € per inhabitant.

For example, to licence a city of 100.000 inhabitants for a year in the United Kingdom (GNI per capita $41.370) would cost 500 € (excluding VAT). That is, it would be the result of multiplying 100.000 by 0,005.

If the price of the selected area is greater than the amount you wish to invest, we can consider accepting a lower offer and proportionately reduce the 50% of the corresponding revenue.

On the other hand, if the affiliate purchases a license for several years, the price per year could be reduced accordingly.

And if you consider an annual licence to be too short, please note that you can purchase a Lifetime Licence, without time limits or annual renewals, by paying the amount equivalent to 5 years.

The minimum price of a license is 200 Euros (excluding VAT). If the result of applying the formula described above is less than 200 Euros, we will allow people to licence other towns in the vicinity to reach that amount. Alternatively, we will offer a license period exceeding one year for the same price.

The reason we have established a minimum price is to reduce speculative purchases and encourage the creation of commercial areas of a certain size (we recommend 50,000 inhabitants or more per zone). We hope that a person who acquires a license will be fully involved in the project and obtain substantial revenue so that our partnership is mutually beneficial and lasting. To help make this happen, we will advice you throughout the process, provide you with the necessary tools and give you access to forums where you can share your trading experiences with other Merkopolis commercial partners in a similar situation.

We take this opportunity to inform that in Merkopolis users can choose to display prices in two currencies simultaneously, the euro and a second currency of their choice, both in advertisements and in the revenue reports submitted to members.

Web affiliation agreements are free and available to anyone who has a web page with a reasonable amount of users. Both, the number of monthly visitors and registered members, could be taken into account for a successful application. Once you have registered as an affiliate, you will have access to a series of tools which will allow you to promote Merkopolis and make special offers to your users, as an incentive to contract our services. To obtain access to these offers, the user will have to provide an identification code on the corresponding Merkopolis form. Through this code, you will be identified as the affiliate responsible for having obtained the client. We would like to encourage you to present your application, independent of the size of your network of users. If we perceive you to have good growth potential, we will not hesitate in accepting your application.

Any user who belongs to Merkopolis in a particular licensed territory (if you are a Territorial Affiliate) or uses a special code provided through your web page (if you are a Web Affiliate), will become part of your own list of clients and the earnings obtained from these users by Merkopolis will be shared on a 50/50 basis with you for a period of ten years from the date of your agreement with Merkopolis, in the case of a Web Affiliate, or for the period of the agreement, in the case of a territorial affiliate. You will be able to follow-up your earnings from your own affiliate Intranet.

There is an alternative way of working with us, which is translating our site into your native tongue and becoming this way the director of Merkopolis in that language.
